Congratulations to Roll On Sushi Diner on one year of success! The innovative sushi fusion spot will mark the occasion with an Austin Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting this Thursday at 11:30 am. In addition, Roll On Sushi’s team invites customers to share in their good cheer with three days of specials and charitable happenings. Following the ribbon cutting, Roll On Sushi will offer all day happy hour drink specials and provide complimentary Chef’s Special rolls to diners. As an added bonus, Roll On Sushi will donate $1 of every roll containing Grow Together Community Gardens produce to the organization.

 The celebration continues Friday with drink specials such as $1 Bud Light and $1 carafe of house Sake all day, a reverse happy hour from 9pm-12am, and a DJ spinning tunes. As an added bonus, 10% of Friday’s sales will be donated to the Flatwater Foundation. Saturday’s festivities include an employee talent show in addition to a reverse happy hour and drink specials. Roll on Sushi will continue to pay it forward by dedicating 10% of sales to the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM).

Both Lenoir and Elizabeth Street Café landed on Bon Appétit Magazine’s list of top 50 nominees for best new restaurant.

Draught House Pub & Brewery was named as one of Food & Wine Magazine’s Top 15 Beer Bars in America.

Jester King Brewery landed on Food Republic’s Power Ranking of Craft Breweries in the US.

Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern visit to Austin premiered this Monday on the Travel Channel. Andrew hit several local favorites including Whip Inn, Contigo Austin, Pig Vicious, Gourdough’s, Lambert’s, Uchi, Foreign & Domestic, and more. Check out his Austin travel guide here.

Not to be outdone, Anthony Bourdain’s chronicles his favorite Austin restaurants in an upcoming September episode of No Reservations. Bourdain’s itinerary includes Barley Swine, JMueller’s, Quality Seafood, Izzoz Tacos, El Taco Rico, Franklin’s BBQ, and Austin Beerworks-filled crawfish boils with Brooklyn band Sleigh Bells.
