Austin EATS

One of the highlights of Austin City Limits is choosing where to overeat from the amazing selection of vendors at Austin Eats. Unlike yours truly, most attendees probably haven’t spent too much time trolling the ACL website reading menus. From what I have deduced, there are plenty of options to feed any craving, so I recommend arriving hungry and penciling in a few return trips to the Austin Eats area. Here are a few recommendations of places I can’t wait to try this weekend:

On weekends not spent enjoying music at Zilker Park, my favorite Sunday activity is a visit to the HOPE Farmer’s Market. Some of the most delicious artisan food vendors from the eclectic market are setting up shop at this weekend’s festival, making the HOPE at ACL one of the best spots to grab a bite. Recommended choices include Coolhause’s Ice Cream Sandwiches, Gardner’s Feast’s overstuffed tamales, or the Seedling Truck’s gourmet comfort food.

Fine dining and music festivals rarely go hand in hand, but Austin Eats isn’t exactly your average food court, especially with featured restaurants such as Second Bar + Kitchen, the Mansion on Judge’s Hill and Fort Worth’s Woodshed Restaurant. Personally, Second’s menu with mouthwatering items such as pork belly bahn mis and truffle pomme frites are high on my list this weekend. Best of all, these hotspots will be selling their high end eats for a fraction of the cost this weekend, making these spots a great bang for the buck.

Stop by the Daily Juice for a healthy pick me up in the form of a refreshing Watermelon Agua Fresca or Blueberry Limonade. Hydrating never tasted so good!

Stuffed steamed buns and watermelon topped with goat cheese and pop rocks? Yes please! Luke’s Inside Out’s menu has me hooked already.

By the time Sunday rolls around, I am usually craving something simple, filling, and less than healthy. To close out a long weekend at the Park, nothing taste better than a burger from Tim Love’s Love Shack or Austin favorite P. Terry’s. Both are so delicious I may have to go ahead and get two….

What are you eating??
