Austin’s favorite coffee purveyor, Cuvee Coffee, is now the official coffee provider to Barley Swine, Home Slice, and La Condesa.
Olivia owner and Chef James Holmes new restaurant, Lucy’s Fried Chicken, opens Friday, December 16 in a space just off of South Congress. Buzz for the long awaited new venture has been growing since first getting a taste of Lucy’s famous fried chicken at this year’s Austin City Limits. Along with the fried chicken, Lucy’s menu features Southern fare like oysters six ways, venison sausage, and deep fried deviled eggs. With a decidedly Texas focus, Lucy’s promises good food, music, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. A vintage diner-style inside will open to a picnic table covered outdoor area which includes a space for live music. Lucy’s features a full bar menu including a Texas only beer list and a house specialty Juicy Lucy watermelon margarita. Visit Lucy’s Fried Chicken at 2218 College Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704.
Contigo Austin is prepped and ready for winter! The mostly outdoor restaurant has installed plenty of space heaters, drop down curtains, and a huge fire pit to keep diners nice and toasty if one of six new winter toddies like Branca Menta Hot Chocolate and Irish Coffee can’t do the trick. The dinner menu is winterized as well, with seasonal options like barley soup and meatballs. While Saturday brunch service has gone into hibernation, Sundays still mean Contigo pancakes from 10am-2pm.
Bistrot Mirabelle (formerly Mirabella) in NW Austin is reopened with a new southern French twist. Acclaimed Chef Clinton Bertrand will helm the kitchen. His new lunch and dinner menus feature French classics like escargot, bouillabaisse, Croque-Monsieur sandwiches, and Coq a Vin. The wine list will feature a mostly French selection with a few domestic options available as well. Visit the newly redesigned restaurant at 8127 Mesa Drive, Austin, Texas 78759.
