Drink of the Day, Holiday Edition: Four Seasons Lobby Bar

Today’s drink of the day is a Poinsettia Champagne cocktail as featured on the Four Season’s holiday drink menu.The Poinsettia cocktail is a blend of champagne, Paula’s Texas orange and cranberry juice. Other special holiday beverages on the menu include German Mulled Wine, the Peppermint Patty, Hot Buttered Rum, the Mistletoe Mojito, and Santa’s Little Helper (full descriptions here). Despite a fairly warm December, it is easy to pretend you’re escaping a winter wonderland while holed up in the Lobby Bar on a thick leather couch next to a warm fire place. Along with a holiday themed cocktail menu, there is a beautiful gingerbread village replicating Austin’s best landmarks and Christmas decorations throughout the lobby. On this particular visit, a few friends and I met to enjoy a festive drink celebrating the season before we all depart to spend time with our respective families. While the Four Seasons is certainly one of Austin’s more upscale waterholes, in true Austin fashion, the bar’s ambiance is still laidback and relaxed. While I love the Four Seasons Lobby Bar, it is not exactly geared towards living a champagne lifestyle on a beer bottle budget. Drinking $12 cocktails all night might not be the most budget friendly way to get a little Christmas cheer, but it is a perfect place to stop by for a drink or two. Afterall, tis the season for a toast!
