February 4 – Mettle Italian Wine Dinner at 7PM

Mettle Chef Andrew Francisco will prepare an amazing five-course menu to be paired with a variety of Italian wines.  The dinner is $85/per person, and reservations can be made online or by calling 512.236.1022. Salty Sow James Beard House Preview Dinner –February 5; various reservations times

Congratulations to Salty Sow Chef Harold Marmulstien who has been invited by the famed James Beard House to serve dinner on February 27! For those local Austinite unable to make it to New York for the dinner, Salty Sow is offering a special two-night preview of Chef Marmulstien’s James Beard menu. On Wednesday, February 5, join Salty Sow to test out the decadent five-course menu (listed below). Cost for the dinner is $55/per person or $75/ per person with wine pairings. Saturday, February 8-  Portland Hunt Cook and Smiling Tiger present ‘Feast on Exotic Meats’ Pop-up at 8pm

Scrumptious Chef R.L. Reeves, Jr. is back with another installment of his popular pop-up dinner events. This month’s event will celebrate exotic meat complete with a menu that includes yak, antelope, alligator, and goose porchetta. In addition, Reeves, Jr. is upping his game with the debut of the Texalina Hot Sauce created from hotter than hot Carolina Reaper Chiles. Presented by Portland Hunt Cook and Smiling Tiger, the Feast on Exotic Meats Pop-Up will be held at Tamale House East (1701 East 6th) beginning at 8pm on Saturday, February 8.

February 22 – Edible Austin’s Beer and Bacon Festival at Marchesa Hall from 2:30-5:00pm

Forget Valentine’s Day: on February 22, Edible Austin and Edible Boston are teaming up to celebrate a true match made in (food) heaven, Beer and Bacon. Austin’s first ever Beer and Bacon Festival will feature 30 area restaurants and nine breweries serving samples of eats and craft beers as well as a pig butchery demo by Salt & Time. Tickets for the event, held at Marchesa Hall, are $40/per person and available here. Check out the full list of participating vendors here. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank.
