After opening a second location earlier this year in Napa Valley, La Condesa is going to Hollywood! La Condesa co-owners Jesse Herman and Delfo Trombetta will open a third location in Los Angeles in 2013. The restaurant will be located at 127 South La Brea Street.
Red House Pizzeria on Manor closed earlier this month, with plans to relocate in an undisclosed location in the future. In the meantime, Hopdoddy owners Larry Foles and Guy Villavaso will open a third location of the popular the gourmet burger joint in Red House’s former space.
The folks behind the successful Peached Tortilla trailer are expanding on their trademark fusion food concept with the newly opened Yume Burger. The new food trailer will feature Japanese influenced burgers. Similar to the Peached Tortilla, Yume Burger will travel to different lunch locations and occupy a permanent locale at 5th & Colorado at night. More details here.
Cheese lovers rejoice: Henri’s Cheese and Wine will soon open at 2026 South Lamar near Barley Swine and the Horseshoe Lounge. Henri’s Cheese and Wine will be a cheese, sandwich, and specialty grocery by day and wine & beer lounge by night. If previews of cheese plates on the forthcoming shop’s Facebook page are an indication of what’s to come, it looks like I’ve identified my new happy place.
A revamped Hickory Street will open later this month with a new concept, chef, and ownership. The restaurant will feature counter and take-out service for breakfast and lunch as well as full service happy hour and dinner daily from 7am-10pm. More details here.
Last week, Romeo’s on Barton Springs appeared to be closed after a Notice of Lock-out has been posted on the restaurant’s doors. No word on reopening…
Don’t forget about Olive & June! Also, I stumbled across Yume Burger this past weekend, and it’s every bit as good as (if not better than) Peached Tortilla.
