Happenings: Valentine’s Day, Part II

Early I highlighted a few off the wall and/or anti-Valentine’s Day events happening in honor of everyone’s favorite Hallmark holiday. For a more traditional approach to Valentine’s Day, here are a few suggestions to shower your love with romance.

To share or not to share:  Antonelli’s is giving V-day revelers the option to plan a picnic or a night at home by offering a celebratory basket complete with a triple crème cheese, a fresh goat cheese, salumi, Marcona almonds, chocolate, bread, honey, a spreader, and a bottle of sparkling wine. Per tradition, Amy’s Ice Cream has morphed into the official headquarters for Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Each year the ice cream purveyor launches on full-scale mission to make Valentine’s Day infitinely more delicious by producing over 100,000 strawberries dipped in European milk chocolate and finished with a drizzled with white chocolate. The Carillon is celebrating Valentine’s Day by offering a special 7-course dinner from Feb. 14-17.  The ah-mazing menu includes everything from oysters to lobster to an NY strip all prepared with Chef Josh Watkins’ unique spin. Cost is $85/pp with an optional wine pairing for $65/pp. Reservations can be made by calling 512.404.3655.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day in the comfort of your own home by taking advantage of Mandola’s five-course dinner take-out offer. The special dinner includes a feast of Italian classics such as mamma’s meatballs and chicken and mushroom lasagna in addition to sparkling wine and Mandola’s very own Chianti. Mandola’s V-day dinner for two is also available in a family size option as well so busy parents can share with their little Valentine’s as well.
