File this under ‘best ways to spend a Saturday’: The first annual Waller Creek Conservancy’s Pop-Up Adventure Picnic will take place next Saturday, April 13 to celebrate the ongoing Waller Creek revitalization project. Upon completion, the project will bring new life to 1.5 miles of Downtown Austin in the form of vibrant local businesses centered along a revamped greenbelt.

For next weekend’s picnic, several local restaurants have teamed up to create two-person picnic baskets specially curated for the event and priced between $25-$150 per basket. Pre-order a basket of goodies from one of several participating restaurants such as Homeslice, Salt Lick or Easy Tiger or B.Y.O. picnic spread. Beer and wine are available for on site purchase as well. In addition eats and drinks, there will be traveling mariachi!! and local acts performing campfire songs during this free, open to the public event.

The Waller Creek Conservancy’s Pop-Up Adventure Picnic kicks off at 6:30pm at Palm Park, located just west of I-35 and 3rd Street.  For more details about the Pop-Up picnic, including picnic baskets and participating sponsors, visit the event webpage here.
