Fancy Cocktails + Downton Abbey = Goodall’s Sunday Nights

Goodall’s will be hosting a weekly Downton Abbey happy hour and episode viewing event beginning this Sunday, January 12 in honor of the show’s 4th season. Guests at the events will enjoy a happy hour prices on craft cocktails ($7), beers ($3) and wine ($7) as well as 50% off select bar menu items.

Downton Abbey will be available for viewing each week in the Goodall’s bar, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Bonus: Downton Abbey fans will receive one free drink if they arrive in costume. For more information, visit here or call 512-628-4400.

January Arts & Drafts Informal Classes at The North Door 
The North Door has announced its January ‘Arts & Drafts’ informal class line-up. Hosted by a variety of local artisans and craftsmen, each class is designed to help guests learn a new skill while enjoying cocktails and small bites provided by the North Door. January’s class lineup includes everything from bitters making, improve comedy basics, chairmaking, and more. Check out the full details, class schedule, and more here.

The first class – Make Your Own Bitters – will take place on Sunday, January 12 at 3pm. Bar Congress mixologist Jason Stevens will be on hand to demonstrating how to make one’s own bitters. Cost to attend is $45/per person. Classes are all held at the North Door, located at 502 Brushy, Austin, TX 78702.

Citizen Generation’s Whole Foods Domain Preview Party and Benefit – January 13, 5-8pm
Citizen Generation is hosting a preview party at the soon to be opened Whole Foods Domain on Monday, January 13. From 5-8pm, guests are invited to tour the new store while enjoying small bites, music, sips and more. Tickets (available here) are $10/per person with all proceeds benefiting KUT and KUTX.

Austin Food For Life Dinner – January 19 7PM at Swift’s Attic
On January 19, Uchi and Uchiko, along with some very special friends in the Austin food community, are hosting a benefit to help a team member Leah Ortiz. After a devastating motorcycle accident last summer, Ortiz was left with mounting medical bills totaling over $140,0000. To help alleviate some of this financial burden, a number of restaurants are teaming up for a special family style meal similar to the meal enjoyed by restaurant staff prior to opening.

The Austin Food For Life dinner will be held at Swift’s Attic (315 Congress Ave) at 7PM. Tickets to the event are $100/per person and available here. Participating chefs include:
