Travaasa Austin and Edible Austin will host Jam & Jive on January 25-26, 2014.Taking place at Travaasa Austin, Jam & Jive is a two-day culinary event filled with workshops, fabulous meals, and more.

On Saturday, guests are invited to attend workshops covering everything from canning to breadmaking. Featured teachers include Hip Girl’s Guide to Homemaking author Kate Payne, Travaasa Chef Benjamin Baker, Oh Kimchi founder Abigail Lunde, and confituras founder Stephanie McClenny.

In the evening, guests will celebrate the best of the winter season with a farm-to-table dinner and live music performed by La Strada. On Sunday morning, guests will enjoy a brunch followed by tours of the Farm at Travaasa Austin.

Day passes can be purchased for $75, which include access to the culinary workshops, dinner and dance party. Guests can also book the Jam & Jive overnight package, which includes access to the culinary workshops, dinner and dance party along with a ticket to the Sunday brunch and a tour of the Farm at Travaasa Austin. Rates for the overnight package begin at $279 for one guest or $379 for two. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Sustainable Food Center.

KUTX 1st Birthday Concert Event at Bass Concert Hall – January 25 at 7:30pm
At the start of 2013, Austin’s NPR news station KUT launched KUTX 98.9, a nonprofit, all-music based radio station offering the official ‘Austin Music Experience’. To celebrate KUTX’s 1st Birthday with a special concert event on January 25 at 7:30pm. Held at the Bass Concert Hall on the University of Texas campus, the concert will feature an all-star lineup including Neko Case, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down (featured here), and Iron and Wine. Tickets to the event, on sale now and available here, will benefit KUTX’s programming. Should be a fantastic show celebrating an even better organization!

SIMS Foundation’s 5th Annual ‘Heart of the City’ Benefit Concert – February 15; Tickets on Sale Now
Tickets are officially onsale for the SIMS Foundation’s 5th Annual ‘Heart of the City’ Benefit Concert taking place at Scottish Rite Theatre on February 15 at 8pm. The ‘soul revue’ themed event will feature the musical stylings of such artists as Grupo Fantasma, Bobby Patterson, Tameca Jones, Dan Dyer, and more. VIP tickets are $120 and include Underground Soul Lounge access, VIP seating, signature cocktails, and the luxury raffle.
