Waller Creek Show Light Night

From 5pm – midnight this Thursday, experience downtown’s Waller Creek area in a whole new ‘light’ as the creek transforms into a walkable community space adorned with five light installations representing the intersection between nature and innovation. In addition to offering a unique view of the ongoing revitalization project, the Creek Show will feature a full lineup of local musicians taking the stage at Empire Control Room beginning at 7pm. Entrance the music portion of the evening is free with RSVP or $5 at the door (RSVP here). Kick off your Creek Show experience with happy hour at Easy Tiger from 5-7pm! East Austin Studio Tour

One of my favorite events of the fall, the East Austin Studio Tour, makes it return this weekend. Held in private homes, art galleries, and collaborative spaces throughout East Austin, the two weekend event features a self-guided walking tour showcasing the works of local and regional emerging artists and makers representing virtually every type of medium. Presented by Big Medium, the free, open to the public event will be held November 15-16 and November 22-23 from 11am-6pm. More details about the East Austin Studio Tour can be found here.

FRESH Art Attack Scavenger Hunt

Want to kick your East Austin Studio Tour experience up a notch? Hop on a bike and join Cycleast for Saturday’s FRESH Art Attack Scavenger Hunt. Participants in the hunt will be given a list of public art checkpoints at the start of the day to compete for a new bike as well as a host of other prizes. Cost to participate is $25/per person, with proceeds benefitting the Ghisillo Foundation. More details can be found here.

2nd Annual Gypsy Art Fair

The second annual Gypsy Art Fair returns to Spider House this Saturday. Thhe Gypsy Art Fair focuses on offering affordable and unique finds from local artists and designers. In addition, the day-long event offers a range of entertainment celebrating the gypsy spirit such as belly dancing, psychic readings, music and more. Free to attend.
