Saturday Derby Happenings

Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets and bust out those fancy hats because Saturday is Derby Day!

Drink. Well. is celebrating with a full menu of Kentucky Derby cocktails, Hot Brown Sandwiches and prizes if you know how to pick ‘em. Drink. Well.’s Derby party will kick off at 12pm on Saturday, May 4.

The Bonneville is getting in on the Derby Day fun from 3-7pm on Saturday, May 4 complete with an afternoon filled with Bonneville snacks and traditional cocktails created from Bulleit Bourbon and Ketel One Vodka. There will also be prizes for best dressed, best hat, and best horse picker.

J. Black’s will host its Hats & Horses in honor of the 138th Kentucky Derby with jazz music, mint juleps on the patio, floppy hats, and more. Warm up for the big race beginning at 11am on Saturday, May 4. More details can be found here.

But that’s not the only fun happening…

Contigo is celebrating its 2nd anniversary with a food, crafty cocktails, and music. In addition, there will be plenty of fun to be had at Contigo’s birthday bash, with parties games such as Cow Tongue Eating Contest, Pickle Guessing Contest and a novice-only bartending contest. Prizes for said games include an overnight getaway to the Contigo Ranch, a Pig Roast for 50, and much more. Contigo’s party kicks off at at 5pm on Saturday, May 4. More details can be found here.

ATX Brands will host its first annual Trailer Truck-off where three finalists will vie to take over the Zorro food truck, located at the 508 Bar on Red River. During the competition, each chef will create a signature dish to be served to a panel of judges. At stake for the winner is a 6-month contract with ATX Brands. The food trailer challenge will take place at the Historic Scoot Inn’s backyard, tomorrow, May 4 from 2:00-5:00pm.
