Spring Happenings, Part 1: 3/22-3/27

Per usual, the spring social calendar is chocked full of events taking place over the next few months to enjoy. Here’s a few to get you started this weekend!

Attention bargain shoppers: The Austin Flea sets up shop this Saturday, March 23 at the Rattle Inn from 11am-5pm. Inspired by the Austin way of life, this flea market combines unique finds with food trailers to make for a perfect little Saturday.  More details can be found here.

Get your Gumbo on at Rain Lily Farm this Saturday, March 23 from 12-4pm during a Fais Do-Do benefiting Urban Roots. In addition to a Gulf Coast Gumbo competition, there will be music provided by Gulf Coast Playboys, local craft beer, and much more. Tickets are $15 and available here. Tuesday, March 26 marks the return of Trailer Food Tuesdays at the Long Center from 5-9pm. Happening the last Tuesday of each month through October, TFT offers guests the opportunity to sample a rotating selection local food trucks. In addition, each event will feature one out of town truck to give Austinites the opportunity to see how other cities’ food truck scene measures up. This week’s featured trucks will include The Peached Tortilla, The Seedling Truck, Tapas Bravas, CoolHaus, Dallas-based Easy Slider, and many more. More details can be found here.

The Driskill Grill is celebrating the return of Mad Men with a Don Draper inspired dinner on Wednesday, March 27 (flyer below). The evening includes five course inspired by the series paired alongside cocktails created by Bar Congress mixologist Jason Stevens.
