Daughter – Miller Lite – Though indie folk band Daughter can get a little too ambient for my own personal taste at times, that same moody sound will make for an easy, relaxed . . . → Read More: ACL 2015: Sunday Top Picks

*Echosmith – Samsung – If there were a reason to make the push to get to the park early on Saturday, Echosmith might be it. I love this sibling foursome’s 80s dark pop sound!

Milo Greene – Honda . . . → Read More: ACL 2015: Saturday Top Picks

With 130-plus artists representing every genre of music performing throughout the festival, there are plenty of fantastic bands at every turn. ACL 2014 Late Night: Aftershow Weekend 2 Top Picks

Austin City Limits Festival is right around the corner, and you know what that means: ACL AFTERSHOWS! One of the best byproducts of last year’s switch from one weekend to two is that there are now also twice as many Official Aftershows. Whether attending the fest or just hitting late night action, the Aftershows are a perfect way to see a favorite band without too large of a crowd. This year’s lineup is stacked with a bevy of options, but I’m breaking it down to help make the decision making process a bit easier. Tickets will fly off the shelves Friday, August 22 beginning . . . → Read More: ACL 2014 Late Night: Aftershow Weekend 2 Top Picks

ACL 2013 Official Late Night Shows: Top Picks for Weekend 2

Austin City Limits Festival is right around the corner, and now that there are two weekends of music instead of one, the fest is poised to be bigger than ever. One of the best byproducts of this transition is there are now also twice as many Official Aftershows. Whether attending the fest or just hitting late night action, the Aftershows are a perfect way to see a favorite band without too large of a crowd. This year’s lineup is stacked with a bevy of options, but we’re breaking it down to help make the decision making process a bit easier. Tickets will fly off the shelves Friday, August 23 beginning at 10am sharp so be prepared to move quickly!

Check out the full lineup of Late Night Shows and buy tickets here. Ginny’s Austin nightly picks are listed below!

Pro Tip: If planning to attend an Aftershow post-fest, you will most likely need to leave Zilker Park before fest is officially over to make it to the venue in time – something to consider if your top act of the fest is the headliner that day!

Wednesday, October 9

**The Shouting Matches w/The Blind Boys of Alabama at Stubb’s – Though both Wednesday shows are solid options, the edge goes to this concert as it benefits the Waller Creek Conservancy. Also, the BBOA are a group I’m dying to catch!

Toro y Moi w/Classixx at Emo’s – Two words: Dance Party

Thursday, October 10

**Phosphorescent w/JD McPherson, Shakey Graves at Stubb’s – Phosphorescent, featured here, is on consistently on my Spotify rotation, and Shakey Graves is always a good time.

Friday, October 11

**Roadkill Ghost Choir at Lambert’s – A tough call because Friday is stacked with great shows, but something tells me RGC at Lambert’s will be a show to remember.

Thursday, October 3

**Bright Light Social Hour w/Reignwolf and Walker Lukens at Emo’s Austin – Not a huge Reignwolf fan, but both BLSH and Walter Lukens are two of Austin’s best local acts.

Friday, October 4

**HAIM + MS MR at Antone’s: Two of my favorite new bands of 2013 at one show? Yes please! Both these indie pop/rock acts would be a must-see on their own, but together they take the cake for Pick of the Night.
