Thanksgiving 2013 Part I: Where to Pre-Order

It’s time once again for everyone’s favorite tryptophan-laced holiday, Thanksgiving. To start off the Ginny’s Austin Thanksgiving 2013 Round Up of all things turkey, here’s a list of places where you can preorder sides, pies, and mains to help make your Thanksgiving as stress-free as possible!

Looking for a way to contribute without stepping foot inside an actual kitchen? I recommend bringing the gift of cheese this Thanksgiving by preordering hand selected cheese and charcuterie plates from Antonelli’s Cheese Shop. Antonelli’s will package together a selection of cheeses and meats ready to be plated and enjoyed while the turkey finishes roasting. Speaking of cheese shops, Henri’s is taking orders for house-smoked turkeys in addition to cheese and meat plates this Thanksgiving. Just pop it in the oven to reheat on Turkey Day for a stress-free holiday. Cost is $5/lb. and each turkey ranges from 10-13 lb. Order by Monday, November 25 for Wednesday pickup. Central Market is currently taking orders through Tuesday, November 26 for everything from appetizers to desserts. Lee’s Meat Market has a range of Turkey Day offerings available in a variety of different sizes. Choose from appetizers such as chicken lizzies, four varieties of turkeys, traditional sides and more. Birds on birds on birds: For a Cajun-inspired feast, preorder your turducken from Lucy’s Fried Chicken by Wednesday, November 20 for pick-up by Tuesday. Each chicken-duck-turkey feeds 18-20 ppl and costs $90. Call Lucy’s Fried Chicken to place your order at 512.514.0664.
