Since opening in 2006, local favorite hamburger slinger P. Terry’s has served to reinvent the fast food model by proving quick and cheap doesn’t have to mean sacrificing quality. P. Terry’s burgers don’t rely on tricked out toppings and fancy ingredients to be special. Their straightforward, simple burgers are made from 100% natural Angus beef, delivered daily produce, and tried and true toppings like French’s mustard. While their burgers are delicious, P. Terry’s exceptional veggie burger is the best in Austin. Most of the time, veggie burgers don’t always get the same TLC as hamburgers. Treated more as an afterthought than a costar, veggie burgers have garnered a reputation for tasting like cardboard rather than an adequate meat replacement. Unlike many burger joints, P. Terry’s veggie burgers are made in house instead delivered frozen by a national distributor. Their unique recipe was created by Chef Andrew Brooks and features a blend of brown rice, black beans, fresh vegetables, and herbs. The difference is impossible to ignore.
From how employees are compensated to ingredients used, P. Terry’s understands delivering a better product takes more than a winning burger recipe. If consistently busy drive-through lines are any indication, many Austinites agree. Despite a high quality focus, P. Terry’s still manages to keep prices low. A burger costs just $2.00! However, I recommend spending an extra buck or two on a veggie burger next time next time you find yourself ordering from the P. Terry’s window. You’ll be glad you did!

Oh how I love a good veggie burger. P Terry’s has, in my humble opinion, the best one in town with a close second being from Galaxy Cafe. Then again, I usually tend to eat my P Terry’s veggie along side their greasy french fries while recovering from the night before….which may be why it is SO good.
